My Experience; Dr. Sue Morter -Energy Codes

My Intro

My experience with Energy Codes was QUITE the whirlwind. I stumbled across a video of Dr. Morter in September of last year, speaking about Energy Codes at the 2019 Conscious Life Expo in Las Angeles. I remember her saying something about opening the third eye (which I’d been trying to do for a couple years at this point) so it got my attention. She was describing what I now know to be the “Morter March” to a participant. The “Morter March” is a method of re-wiring the brain by standing in a march-like position and doing a specific breathing exercise. Having partaken in other methods of re-wiring the brain in the past I was very curious about this new method. I remember watching attentively and saying out loud, “I wish I could learn this and teach it to people.”

Soon after, I looked up Dr. Morter on Facebook and came across a post she had shared about a course the Morter Institute was offering to become a certified Energy Codes coach. “Oh, crap!” I said out loud. Talk about instant manifestation! Wasn’t I just saying that I wanted this? And there it was. I knew exactly what was going to happen next and I DIDN’T want to do it but knew that I had to. I also somehow knew that it was not going to be easy. You see, this is how the Universe works with me; a series of synchronicities will happen out of the blue and lead me somewhere that I need to be. So, I knew I had to stay the course, sign up for the class, and complete it. I knew that it was part of my journey for some reason.

In the end, my experience with the Energy Codes ended up being a gift and one hell of a boost to my search for enlightenment. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, completely through me out of my comfort zone, but I’m so glad that I said, “Screw it!” and took the class.

When I signed up for the class it was already one week in so I actually missed the first week. It was also a requirement that you at least read Dr. Sue’s book, Energy Codes. So, I did. I blasted through that thing in one week. I was so proud of myself!

What’s Energy Codes?

If you’re interested in using Energy Codes I recommend Dr Sue’s book. It’s an easy read and she breaks down the practices and the breathwork in a way that was easy for me to understand. Honestly, I feel that I gained so much just from reading the book alone.

The purpose of Energy Codes is to empower you to become more aware of your own bodies energy, how emotional and psychological events can affect your energy and body, and to walk you through how to remove energetic blockages in your system that can negatively affect you. In my own personal experience with Energy Codes I was able to heighten my sensitivity to my bodies energy, or Qi as some may call it.

I’ve always been able to sense the energy in my body and as I got older, I’ve even been able to make that energy pulse. I could send a shockwave, so to speak, through my own body. When I meditated, I noticed that this energy would concentrate in my head and neck and would grow slowly as my meditation progressed and deepened. I also noticed that something similar would happen to me when I got excited or when someone startled me but it would happen suddenly. That same shockwave of energy would burst outward and fill my body (like when you get the tingles or chills). So, it was always something that I could do on my own or it would happen spontaneously due to outside stimulus. The idea of understanding this energy more and learning how to control it fascinated me!

The coaching course was an online course and it helped to enrich and deepen my understanding of the practice but what was most important to me and my personal journey was the people I came into contact with. It was so wonderful to meet so many people who were not only interested in the same subject matter I was but were also healers, mystics and lovers of the esoteric just like me. It helped me to know and truly feel that I am not alone in this world. There’s so many of us! It was this personal contact with others that also helped me reflect on myself while learning the codes. Learning the codes with others was a blessing as it helped me to better understand the practice as well as myself. I was able to break through some personal barriers during the course and my personal life, sense of joy and life abundance have grown. What I wrote about in When Change Actually Started Happening and My Most Profound Experience to Date wouldn’t have been possible without Energy Codes.

Since reading the book and taking the course I’ve been able to perfect my awareness and utilization of my body’s energy. Whenever I feel down, lazy, out of whack or completely outside of myself all I have to do is take one deep breath, feel my energy moving through my body and I can shift my mood. Just like that!!

What to Expect

In the very beginning of learning this practice the hardest thing for me was learning how to properly perform what’s called the central channel breath. Like with Dr. Joe Dispenza’s breath (My Experience; Dr. Joe Dispenza -The Breath), the central channel breath took nearly a month of practice before I finally became comfortable with it and was able to do it quickly and freely. Now I don’t even need to be sitting up straight and remembering all the steps first. I can just do it. Practice makes perfect! And I love it! I’ll do it in the car, while I’m meditating, while I’m watching TV, I even did it twice while sitting here writing this! It’s a great way to bring yourself back when you’re distracted and ground yourself.

There are several other breathing exercises related to specific chakras and the internal organs related to each chakra/energy center. I can’t say I’m one of those people who used to think that chakras and Qi were esoteric woo-woo. I always knew there was something going on. I just didn’t know what it was or how to access it. Now I can utilize Energy Codes breathwork to align the energy centers and create vitality and a healthy flow.

As you read through the book you will also notice that Dr. Morter relates specific yoga poses to each energy center. I haven’t had much experience with yoga but I am impressed with the results I’ve experienced utilizing yoga with Energy Codes. There are also so many other practices explained in the book that you can utilize, such as clockwork breathing which is one of my favorites. Clockwork breathing is an exercise used to open up the energy in the brain, specifically the third eye. The book is jam-packed full of gems and I frequently refer to certain chapters when I’m feeling stagnant or when I’m looking for a  bit of inspiration!

Understanding how my body responds to everyday situations has become invaluable! My anxiety has dropped significantly and when I have those days when my anxiety is triggered, I can calm myself quickly. I’ve found Energy Codes to be an invaluable addition to my everyday routine!
